Drawing Inspiration

on Wednesday, 16 April 2014 15:51. Posted in What's on?

On Thursday 24 April at Bridport Town Hall, art historian Gwen Yarker will give an illustrated talk on Henry Joseph Moule, a Dorset born watercolour artist and friend of Thomas Hardy.  Talk starts at 7.00pm - £3 donation encouraged.

The first curator of Dorset County Museum,  Moule’s lasting legacy is an astonishing collection of several thousand watercolours he painted of the Dorset countryside.  A unique record, providing a vivid insight into Victorian Dorset and strongly evoking the Wessex of Thomas Hardy’s books.

The Antique & Vintage Sunday is a monthly affair on last Sunday throughout the year in the Art & Vintage Quarter on the St Michael’s Trading Estate.

All the Antique & Vintage shops and The Alleyways Antique Centre are open so there’s plenty to see, do and buy.

The Red Brick Café will be open 11:00am to 3:00pm serving everything from their amazing cooked breakfasts, gastronomic delights for lunch and there are always their wonderful choices of freshly made cakes to enjoy with a cup tea or coffee.
